Nurses & Healthcare Staff - Interview Advice

The Interview Process for Nurses and Healthcare Staff looking for UK Nursing Jobs and Healthcare Jobs

At a nursing interview or healthcare interview, the candidate’s goal is to convince the prospective employer that they are the best person for the job. It is therefore crucial to do as much preparation as possible. Any knowledge gained before you arrive for the interview will give you the confidence and ability to perform to your best. Preparation should include research on the hospital/ home/unit/department and the nursing role in question.

Visiting a prospective hospital/unit/department

It is usual to visit the hospital/home either before or after an interview and this is a great opportunity to find out more about the unit/department. Don’t forget to ask the nurses or health care staff working there as many questions as possible including:

· What is it like working there?

· What are the staff/Managers like?

· Is the role enjoyable?

· Is the Management approachable?

· What are the patients like?
